The 4th Flapjack Digi release is just about fried up. This is a bittersweet end of summertime slammer from Austin, TX's Sun City Hustlers. These boys have been holding it down for Austin and are definiltey "On The Come Up" as they say ;)
The first tune "Get It On" is great funky number lovin' on some vibes.....and not talking about the peace/love/unity hippy vibes....I'm talking about the instrument here. A great vibe hook and some horny horns to keep you jamming on n on
"On The Come Up", the tune in which the EP derives it's name from, is a phatty disco sax track that continues that carries that signature Sun City groove that these boys do so well. Along with some great hip hop vocals and breaks, this tune snaps backs like a combine on corn stalks.
To compliment these two fabulous tunes, Flapjack veteran allstars Arco & Wattie Green stop up to deliver two flapjackin remixes that send this EP up to blue plate special status. Both of them laying down their signature styles on these two tunes which is like the syrup on top of a scrumptious pile of pancakes. mmm mmm, I'm getting phatter just writing about this EP.
