Flapjack Records is slap happy to tickle:
FLAPD14:
Jackin' Box
"Slap n Tickle EP"

A. Jazz Bang Part 2
B. Only U
C. The Funk Pump
D. Funky Time

Hot off the entrails of their vinyl debut on Flapjack Records, Jackin' Box duo is back with more funk than you can shake a pixie stick at.  Just when you thought the ice cream truck would be gone for the season, off in the distance you hear the looped sounds which send you running to the curb with any loot you can find, only this time two goofy Brits show up and they are blasting their new Flapjack Digital release the "Slap n Tickle EP".  Their ice cream is good, but not for children.

The EP opens with a brand new take on your favorite flavor from their "Licker License EP""Jazz Bang Part 2" vinyl release, .  You would think a remix would suffice, but no, this is a full on waffle cone with 3 scoops and all the fixins to keep you up all night on a swing house infused sugar high.  You will have ice cream all over you face and a mess down your shirt once you get to stepping to this tune.

I just realized that I totally didn't write anything about the "Only U" track in the release write-up.  What can I say, this track is so dope that nothing even needs to really be said about it.  Buuuuut, now that I'm here I may as well tell you that listening to and playing this track will increase your sexiness by %500. Just put some stank on it!

"The Funk Pump" is what all the kids are doing on the corner after they get their goodies.  It's the super slapping bass that drives the kids into a frenzy and often leaves their tongues stuck to roofs of their mouths.  Stupid kids.  This tune works great after any meal as a delectable desert.

The last lick of this sugary sweet EP is a tune called "Funky Time".  This is the kind of time you will be having in your pants after you jive to this lickory lip soother.  Something about good house music that makes you have to crap...must jar something loose.  But it's nothing that a little bit more of the "Slap n Tickle EP" can't remedy.

South Of Roosevelt
"La Legende Du Chaton De Sexe"

A1. Everybody Loves (Vocal Mix)
A2. Everybody Loves (Dub Mix)
B1. Boom
B2. Yo Mama

Chicago based Flapjack Records next vinyl edition gives us Chicago's own new kids in the kitchen South Of Roosevelt sizzling us with their sexy new EP entitled "La Legende Du Chaton De Sexe".  These guys may be wet behind the skillet so to speak, but after you grab a mouthful of this tantalizing new piece of wax, you will be left with your pants around your ankles salivating for more.

Feast your eyes on the main course "Everybody Loves (Vocal Mix)" which is a sexy swinging jazz cut made from top choice grade A filet mignon.  It's a mouth watering dish full of fresh flavor that lasts well after the club closes.

"Everybody Loves (Dub Mix)" takes the cake and eats it too.  This mix is a jackin sax jam based on the original but with some spice that's really nice.  It's a play on the original that caters to those who like to get down.

For the second course, dig into a phat fork full of "Boom" which does exactly what it says.  This tune just slams with an up n bumping saxophone funk salad that fills you up but keeps you light on your feet on the dance floor.

Finish off this feast with "Yo Mama", which is a hilarious hail to Chicago and LA, complete with a string of yo mama jokes that will keep you rolling and scratchin up in the dance hall.  This release is a straight up Chicago fine dining experience that you won't want to miss.

We are back in business!

For the entire month of June I was touring the beautiful country of Italy.  I drove all throughout the country from Rome through Umbria, Tuscany, the mountains of Garfagnana, all the way to the beautiful coast towns of Cinque Terre.  I had no access to a computer and it was fantastic.  The trip totally reset my brain, refreshed my soul, and gave me a really nice tan :)

SO....now I am back at it and there are plenty of great things on the way.  Here is the scoop:

-FLAP008: South Of Roosevelt - "La Legende Du Chaton De Sexe" will be dropping digitally in the next week or so

-FLAP009: Emil Lanne - "Cookin' In Brooklyn" will be dropping on vinyl in the next week or so

-FLAPD14: Jackin' Box - "Slap 'n' Tickle EP" will be dropping digitally as well in the next couple of weeks.

-Flapjack Radio w/ Frankie J will continue as scheduled every Tuesday night from 10 - 11pm CST

Stay locked on Flapjack Records Dot Com for all the exciting news and bits coming up to curb your house music hunger!

Thanks again for everyone's continued support and I'm glad to be back!!!
Cheers,
Frankie J
